Wowzers! Many students were THRILLED to see the return of the Gaga Ball pit this week in Gym. We use the Gaga Ball pit for a variety of Gaga games. For our first class, we reviewed the rules and had a practice game with a one-in-one-out play style. For today's class, we played an elimination style and students had the choice to participate in either an "intense" game or "relaxed" game. Next week, we will try a Team-styled Gaga Ball, as well as Revenge Gaga Ball, both with the option to play "intense" or "relaxed." When students are not in the pit, there is ample gym space leftover to use for exploring other equipment.
Gaga ball helps us achieve our Wellness curriculum outcomes by providing opportunities for striking, dodging, and experimenting with different types of equipment. It also encourages strategizing.
